Give a Simple Host site a shorter or custom address, either a free <name>.simple-host.app (one call, no DNS) or the person's own domain or subdomain (for example rsvp.example.com via a CNAME record, or example.com via an A record) to a site they already have on Simple Host, using the connect_domain, domain_status and remove_domain tools. Use when the person wants their site on a nicer or shorter address, or asks how to point a domain they bought (Vercel, GoDaddy, Porkbun, Namecheap, Cloudflare, Squarespace and others) at their site. Optional, since every site already has its own address where sign-in and private collections work. Gets the two DNS records (the address and a TXT ownership record), relays them with registrar-specific steps, and checks until the domain is live.
Build, publish and change websites on Simple Host through the connected Simple Host tools. Use when the person wants a website, landing page, portfolio, event or RSVP page, sign-up or order form, survey, poll, guestbook or small shop put online; wants to edit, redesign, rename, roll back or delete a site they already have; or wants to see or change what a site has collected (RSVPs, responses, orders, votes, counts) or how many people visited. Covers writing well-designed static pages, saving visitor data with the hosted page helper (shared state and append-only collections), results and admin pages, private lists for orders, RSVPs and sign-ups on the site's own address, versions and rollback, and what is and is not public.
Decide what to build on Simple Host before building it. Use when the person has an idea for a website or web tool but has not settled what it should do, asks whether Simple Host can handle something (accounts, payments, a database, private data, server code), or describes a feature and needs it mapped to what a static site with a light backend can do. Checks the fit, picks the pattern (static page, shared state, collections, private collections, localStorage, public APIs, a shorter address), says plainly what is public and what is owner-only, then hands off to website-deploy.

RSVPs, orders, votes and survey answers are kept, and you can download them as a spreadsheet. Orders, RSVPs and sign-ups can go in a private list that only you can read, and you choose who may save: anyone who signs in, or only the people you list.\n\nChange a site any time by asking for it. Earlier versions are kept, so you can preview one or put it back. Saved data keeps 30 days of history, so a deleted entry or an unwanted change can be restored, and a deleted site can be brought back for 7 days.\n\nAsk how many people visited, which pages they read and where they came from. Give a site a free name.simple-host.app address or connect your own domain, and download a copy of any site whenever you like.\n\nSign in once and ChatGPT remembers you in every chat after that. Pages are public to anyone with the link, so keep private information in private lists. Free to start.",
