Researches a product from its name, URL or GitHub repo and records it in the consuming project's reference folder, covering feature coverage against the project's own dimensions, the vendor's ownership and jurisdiction, and the license and business model per component (what is open and what is paid, whether it self-hosts, relicensing history, community forks). Every claim carries its source, version and date checked. Findings are proposed in chat and only approved edits are written. All conventions come from a project profile; with none present the skill stops and offers to scaffold one. Use when the user asks to research, study, ingest or add a product, competitor or vendor, or to update what the reference folder says about one.
